Online Family Mediation in Maine

Mediation For Maine Cases

I offer mediation services for individuals involved in family disputes in the Maine judicial system. Mediation provides you with a private and efficient alternative to courtroom battles. Family mediation allows you and the other party to make decisions together, reaching a mutual agreement without the need for a judge to impose a ruling. This process can help save you both time and money, while avoiding the stress of a lengthy and expensive trial.

How Online Mediation Works

I conduct mediation sessions via Zoom, which gives you the flexibility to join from anywhere with an internet connection using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. For the best experience, I recommend using a laptop with a camera and microphone.

During the session, it’s important that you’re in a quiet, private location to ensure confidentiality—especially if sensitive family matters, like child custody or child support issues, are being discussed.

Mediation sessions typically last several hours, and it may take multiple sessions to reach a complete resolution.

Attending Mediation With or Without Attorneys

You have the option to attend mediation with or without an attorney. If you'd like to seek legal advice during the mediation, your attorney must be present, as I, as a neutral mediator, cannot provide legal counsel.

Alternatively, you can consult with an attorney before or after the mediation session to understand the legal implications of any agreements or proposals.

Why Choose Mediation For Your Maine Case?

  • Cost-effective: Avoid expensive court fees and lengthy litigation processes.

  • Flexible: Participate from the comfort of your own home, anywhere you have a reliable internet connection.

  • Confidential: Mediation is a private process, and agreements are made collaboratively rather than dictated by the court.
